Family Support & Signposting

Little Lights CIC provides information, guidance and signposting for families who may be facing difficult circumstances and need support accessing essential items for their home and children.

We are not a grant provider ourselves. Our role is to help families understand what support may be available, complete an initial enquiry, and, where appropriate, refer eligible applications to external grant programmes or charitable funds.

Who can get in touch?

You may contact us if you are a parent, carer or main caregiver responsible for children under 18 and you need support with essential household or child-related items.

Each family’s situation will be looked at individually. Eligibility criteria may apply depending on the grant provider or support programme.

Support may include signposting for:

• Beds and mattresses
• Fridges and freezers
• Washing machines and dryers
• Cookers and ovens
• Cots and baby equipment
• Clothing and footwear
• Household furniture
• Other essential household items

Please note: we cannot usually help with

• Cash payments or vouchers
• Rent or utility bills
• Debt repayments or loans
• Mobile phones
• Toys or gifts
• Holidays
• General living expenses

How the process works

1. Complete our support enquiry form. This helps us understand your situation and what type of support you may need.
2. We review your information. A member of Little Lights CIC will check whether your circumstances may meet relevant eligibility criteria.
3. We contact you confidentially. We may ask for further information before deciding whether we can support with a referral.
4. Eligible enquiries may be referred. Where appropriate, we may help signpost or refer families to external grant providers or support organisations.
5. The final decision is not made by Little Lights CIC. Any award or support is assessed and approved by the relevant grant provider.

Completing our form does not guarantee that support will be available. All enquiries are treated confidentially and sensitively. We will only use your information to assess your enquiry, contact you, and, where appropriate, support a referral to a relevant organisation.
