Our vision for a Community Space

Little Lights Young Futures Hub
A dedicated youth space in Birmingham where young people build confidence, gain practical skills, and step into real opportunities — supported through wellbeing, mentoring and apprenticeship pathways.
Our mission: to be a bridge between mental wellbeing, self-care and real-life direction — so young people don’t feel stuck after support ends, but supported to move forward with confidence and purpose.
The Need in Birmingham
Many young people face unemployment pressure, low confidence and limited access to safe community spaces. Mental health challenges can make it harder to stay engaged in education, training or work.
Too often, support is short-term. When programmes end, young people are left without structure or a clear next step. The Young Futures Hub is designed to provide stability, belonging and real progression pathways.
What is the Young Futures Hub?
- Apprenticeship-style training and employability pathways (starting with hospitality).
- Mentoring and confidence-building programmes.
- Wellbeing workshops and self-care tools.
- Safe community space that reduces isolation.
- Clear progression into employment or further training.
Why We Need a Space
To deliver consistent apprenticeships and weekly programmes, we need a dedicated physical base in Birmingham. A stable space creates stability for young people.
- Youth-friendly premises in Birmingham
- Training café/kitchen equipment
- Furniture and learning space setup
- Safeguarding and operational setup
- Starter programme delivery costs

Rating: 5 out of 5.As a parent, it’s reassuring to know that Little Lights CIC is working to create opportunities for young people who may not have had the best start in life. The idea of a community cafe that reinvests its profits into youth programmes is simply brilliant. We can’t wait to support it!
